Book Covers

Just a quick note.

The book covers in the reviews are taken from a LibraryThing feed of user-submitted covers. It’s a simple way of getting them (without having to search on Amazon and either direct linking or storing), and it’s legal to do so. However, the images that are produced aren’t necessarily the highest-quality works, at least at the quality I’ve chosen to display. I might choose to change the size later on… stay tuned.

Quick Site Note

For what it’s worth, I’m not planning to make it a habit to post political-based posts like yesterday’s event. While I certainly have particular political views, this blog won’t generally be a way to express it.

Frankly, if I’m going to drive away a potential audience, I’d rather do it over some review of a game over a political rant.

Introduction to the Blog

Hello everybody!

It’s been a while since I last updated my LiveJournal (and much much longer since I updated my Blogger account.) Due to a variety of reasons, I’ve decided to restart my blogging over here on a new site under a new name. Don’t worry, you’ll get the same level of cynicism and bad humor that people who follow me on Twitter have come to expect (and probably dread).

I’m not planning on having this replace my Twitter feed at all. Rather, they’ll compliment each other. There’s plenty of things that I have thoughts on that take up just a bit more than 140 characters. Such topics can (and will) include:

• Book / movie reviews. I tried that on Twitter with quite limited success. The reviews will still be short reviews, just a bit longer than 140 characters.
• Programming tidbits. Whether it be bits of things I learn from work, short tidbits from personal projects, or the announcement of the next Greatest Thing Ever, I’m sure to have some of them here.
• Indianapolis thoughts / reviews. As I find new and exciting places around Indianapolis, I’ll try to review them up here. I’ve lived here for 8 months now (as of the time of this writing) and I know that I’ve just scratched the surface.
• Rants. I think this is self-explanatory.

I’m sure there will be more things to come in the future, but for now, this is the tentative plan. My goal is to update at least once a day, but things may change down the line.
